Would you recommend this novel to another reader? Consider the lessons it has to offer, its overall readability, its ability to capture one's attention, and its representation as a novel of the Victorian era.
I would recommend this novel to another reader even though it wasn’t one of my favorite books (not that I have many favorites). I think the plot is kept interesting because of the changes in who likes who, who is coming into town, etc. I don’t think the book gave me a very good idea of Victorian age society, though. It wasn’t really hard to read, but it was longer than I wanted it to be. However, I liked the themes. The lesson was pretty easy to pick out and it was a well written book. I might advise someone to pick a more well-known book if they wanted to be able to compare their thoughts on the reading with someone else, but overall I think Emma was a good Victorian novel choice.
